FORT WORTH-DALLAS (May 25, 2000) - His name isn't on the Borg Warner Trophy and he hasn't had the milk in Victory Lane at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Being Scott Goodyear - one of the best drivers in the Indy Racing Northern Light Series - that will all come in time. But even after Indy has come and gone - there's Texas.=20

Second only to the Indy 500, the Casino Magic 500 is the biggest race in the series and a place where Goodyear's Pennzoil Panther is the 1999 defending Champion.

"Texas is a real racing track," said Goodyear. "The banking allows for great side by side racing, which puts on a good show for the fans and benefits all types of cars. The team and I look forward to coming here every year - we always run very well."

Goodyear and the Panther team are also motivated by the return of Al Unser Jr. to Indy Racing. Goodyear finished by less than a second to Unser in the 1992 Indy 500.=20

"It's a friendly rivalry between us," said Goodyear. "I'm excited about Al being in the series full time. The Unser name is so legendary in racing, it will bring a lot back to the sport and all the Indy races."

Since joining Panther Racing in the team's inaugural season in 1998, Goodyear has posted two IRL victories in 1999 at Phoenix and Texas. This year, the team is more determined than ever to get to the finish line at every race - and win. =20
