Rain dampened activities at Walt Disney World Speedway, arriving afer USAC Coors Light Silver Bullet practice and shortly before the scheduled end of the first group of Indy Racing League practice. At 2:28 pm, Indy Racing League officials cancelled MBNA pole qualifying, and at 3:00 cancelled all remaining activities for today. Tomorrow's starting lineup will be determined by last season's car owner points, and by practice times for new teams which have no points from last season.

Tomorrow's plans are to have a final full-tank practice at 9:00 am for all starters in the Delphi Indy 200, with the green flag at the original scheduled time of 12 noon. In the event of further rain delay, the green can take place as late as 4:00 pm, and the final practice can be abbreviated to a 10 minute running yellow.

USAC Silver Bullet qualifying was postponed to 9:45 am tomorrow. The Silver Bullet race will take place as scheduled, following the Delphi Indy 200.

The Internal Revenue Service has a role in tomorrow's starting lineup. With several of last team's merging or changing their formal ownership, there is a potential question as to which are "new" versus which are continuations of last season. This decision is settled by whether or not a team's federal tax ID number is the same as it was last year.

Open wheel racer and IRL rookie Sarah Fisher and Star Mazda sensation Sara Senske were seen observing activities in the IRL pits. Tomorrow Walker Racing is expected to announce Sarah Fisher's IRL schedule for the season.

During the Silver Bullet practice, Jimmy Sills and Mike Lauterborn collided on the front stretch, both suffering broken axles. Later on, in the garage area, IRL driver Davey Hamilton was seen helping Sills and car owner George "Ziggy" Snider replace the axle.

Titan Motorcycles unveiled its "Indy 500" Y2K Gecko Rubbermount motorcycle. The striking orange and checkered flag paint scheme, replete with the 2000 Indy 500 logo, will be built in a limited edition series of 100. This year's Indianapolis 500 winner will receive one of these bikes. Phoenix-based Titan Motorcyles, founded in 1995 by Frank Keery and his son Patrick, now manufactures over 1000 hand built custom motorcycles a year. "The enterpreneurial spirit of Keery's and the entire Titan Motorcyles staff has produced a very impressive company and an even more impressive product," said Tony George, president of the Indianapolis Motor Spedway. "We feel the Titan Indy 500 motorcycle reflects the same values of tradition, quality and style that we at IMS hold dearly."

MBNA America Bank, N.A., will sponsor the pole award at all Indy Racing League events, except the Indianapolis 500, during the 2000 season. The pole winner at each event will receive a $10,000 check and a replica of the striking MBNA Pole Award Trophy, which was unveiled today. The pole award sponsorship is officially for one year, and is an amendment to an existing agreement with two years to run. Both MBNA and the Indy Racing League expect, however, to have a long relationship with this award. Dave Moroknek, director of licensing and consumer products for IRL and IMS, said "The value of this award was first created by PPG Industries, which has sponsored the Indianapolis 500 pole award for many years and will continue to do so. The Indy Racing League tips our hat to PPG as we begin to build a similar tradition with MBNA."
