Treadway finishes 16th in cold conditions.
Nazareth, PA: Driving the #55 Airlink Enterprises/Spade Motorsports entry for Treadway-Hubbard Racing, proved to be a challenge in cold conditions. Rick Treadway finished 16th in the Indy Firestone 225 at the Nazareth Speedway today after suffering a mishap that cost him the lead lap.
In lap 54, Treadway, running in 3rd place, spun out on cold tires and made light contact with the turn four wall. Officials were able to push the car onto pit lane and the Treadway crew replaced the nose and front wings, added fuel, changed the tires and sent Treadway back out on lap 58.
"That race felt like a marathon," said Treadway. "We had a lot of good things going for us, and I had a good car. When I got into 3rd position, I got on the throttle a little too hard and spun it. The crew did a great job getting it back together."
Treadway is now 19th in the overall points standings. The next race is the 86th running of the Indianapolis 500 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 26th. Indianapolis 500 practice begins May 5th.
