"It was a great day for Marlboro Team Penske. The car was handling really well and I was able to pick my way through the field and move up to second. I was battling Sam (Hornish Jr.) for the lead until we got a puncture in our right rear tire. We had to pit under green flag conditions (on lap 105) which put us down a lap. However, I was able to move back up through the field and run in the top three again. On the last restart, my timing was just right and I passed Scott (Sharp) to finish the race in second. The Team did a fantastic job in the pits and Roger (Penske) called a great strategy. It's too bad we didn't get the win, but overall I'm happy with our result because now we head into Michigan with the lead in the Championship (de Ferran has a ten point lead over teammate Helio Castroneves)."

"It wasn't my best day but it wasn't my worst day. The Marlboro Team Penske car was handling well and we were able to run in the top-five for most of the race. It was tough to pass and get out of the groove. I tried to go off line a couple of times but decided to stay put and see how things played out. Unfortunately, while running second, we had to pit under green flag conditions (lap 161) because of a cut right rear tire which put us down a couple of laps and back in 13th position. That's how it goes sometimes - one minute you're in the front and the next minute you're in the back. The good thing is that we were able to move up a couple of spots (Castroneves finished ninth) and score points towards the Championship. There are five races left so we can hopefully regain the lead in the Championship (Castroneves is second in the point standings with 337 points)."
