#9 Scott Dixon- Toyota / Dallara /Firestone
"This is our first experience with the Dallara chassis and it is definitely different in lots of respects; sitting position, fueling, steering, it's a real change. I've been in a Panoz since coming to the IRL so it's quite an adjustment and we're really just feeling it out. That's a lot of years of effort to get where we are today with the Panoz and you can't combine all those efforts into success with the Dallara in just one weekend. There are a lot of areas to compare and there's a lot of development to come and that should be good. By the end of the first day I was feeling more comfortable but it is a big change for both me and the Target team and that will demand some patience. For our qualifying run I had quite a bit of understeer and it was hard to keep the car down in tuen 3 and 4. It's been a tough weekend to date but we've gathered a lot of information and we should have a good run on race day."
#10 Darren Manning- Toyota / Panoz /Firestone
"It is a pretty different aero package from when we ran here last year especially with the 3.0 litre engine we have now. The handling is pretty different but we came well prepared and made some good changes to improve the Toyota Panoz throughout the weekend. The straights are a bit slower this year but the corners are faster. For qualifying, the wind direction really changed from the morning session so that spoiled our gear ratios somewhat. We picked up a lot of understeer as a result but I'm very happy with the Target car set up and we should have a good race."
#33 Ryan Briscoe- Toyota / Panoz /Firestone
"This is my first time at Twin Ring Motegi and it really is an interesting track. This is the first time I found myself breaking on an oval. The track is fast and good fun. Toyota's been working diligently and we're seeing some improvements. I'm happy with the set up of the #33 Target Pioneer we have and we're in a good position to do well this weekend."
