Difficult Weekend for Matsuura in Milwaukee

Rookie of the Year points leader Kosuke Matsuura [Kohs-kay Mat-sur-ah] will start 22nd for tomorrow's Menards AJ Foyt Indy 225 after a tough two days at The Milwaukee Mile. Matsuura crashed heavily in the afternoon practice session yesterday, returning to the race track this morning in his back-up car. He suffered from oversteer during his qualifying run, and will start at the back of the grid for tomorrow's 225-lap race, round nine of the IRL IndyCar® Series.

Weather: For the 30-minute morning practice session, temperatures at 66 F under mostly sunny skies with winds out of the east at 10 mph; for qualifying, temperatures at 69 F under cloudy skies and winds out of the southeast at nine mph.

Practice Recap: After an accident in the afternoon practice session yesterday, Matsuura returned to the track this morning to shakedown the #55T car which he will use in the race. Matsuura posted the 16th fastest time with a lap of 22.3714 163.334 mph.

Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Panoz G Force/Honda/Firestone:

"Of course this is very disappointing. The car wasn't good. We had too much oversteer. Personally, I think this problem is coming from me because yesterday I crashed one car and completely destroyed it. I drove the back-up car this morning and it was pretty good, but I think the weather changed a lot for the qualifying. We changed the setup but everything went bad for me. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully we can have a good result."
