The Indy Racing League's highly-anticipated showdown between Danica Patrick and Sarah Fisher struck a pot-hole on Sunday morning when Vitor Meira collected the Rahal/Letterman driver as she began slowing to enter the long narrow pit lane at Kentucky Speedway. The two racers were checked, released and cleared to drive.

Both teams quickly regrouped and fashioned repairs to their machines. A little more than one hour prior to the green flag, Meira's bright-orange and black racecar was refitted with a left front suspension, and was headed for the fuel pumps ready for war. A placid Patrick stood alongside her Rahal Letterman Racing Number 16 Argent Mortgage Dallara/Honda/Firestone as Firestone technicians checked the air pressure in the rear tires in preparation of an on-time start for the diminutive diva.

The IndyCar filed will take the green flag for the Meijer Indy 300 presented by Coca-Cola and Secret at 3:45 PM EDT today and carried live on ABC Sports.
