On his ninth practice lap, Mark Dismore spun and hit the turn one wall at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on day five of practice for the Indy 500. Safety crews were immediately on the scene.

Dismore was taken to the track medical center, and then transported by ground to Methodist Hospital for further tests. Initial reports from the track indicate that Dismore suffered a concussion. He was listed in stable condition - awake and alert.

Dismore is the driver of the No. 20 Sam Schmidt Motorsports Indy Car Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone entry.
