LAS VEGAS-- Tony Renna, a rookie of the year candidate at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, has been hired to replace Al Unser Jr. in the Corteco/Bryant Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone Indy Racing League entry owned by Kelley Racing.

Renna will take over the driving duties beginning with this Saturday's Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway. Unser, who lives in Henderson, has entered a substance abuse program and will not return to racing until August. Renna also is scheduled to compete in the Michigan 400 next weekend.

Renna, who also serves as a driving instructor for the Las Vegas-based Derek Daly Academy, has competed in four NASCAR Late Model races for car owner Dick Cobb at the Bullring this season. Renna's best finish was fourth on April 20 and stands 28th in the track point standings. Renna's teammate with Cobb is track point leader Thane Alderman.
