"The Marlboro Team Penske car was great in the first stint and I was able to run flat out with no problem. I was anticipating that the car might go loose so I made a change during the first pit stop that unfortunately turned out to be a mistake.
"The Marlboro Team Penske car was great in the first stint and I was able to run flat out with no problem. I was anticipating that the car might go loose so I made a change during the first pit stop that unfortunately turned out to be a mistake. The car ended up pushing in turn three, so we worked on it during the next two stops, which improved the handling. We didn't have the car to win today, but we were able to bring it home in the top-five and close the gap in the Championship (Castroneves finished fifth and moved to second in the Championship with 377 points). With four races to go, we need to keep working hard and maintain our focus -- there are a lot of points to be had and the competition is very close.
Most importantly, I'm glad Chris Seaman (fueler, Gil de Ferran's car) is okay and I wish him a speedy recovery."

"It wasn't the best day for us. Throughout the race I was dropping back from the leaders and the cars behind me were able to close the gap because I just didn't have enough speed. On the last pit stop (lap 151), I misjudged my entry and made a costly mistake. I came into the pits too hot and hit my fueler, Chris Seaman. I ended up dropping down to ninth when I went back out on the track (de Ferran came into the pits in sixth position). At the end of the race, I developed understeer, which caused me to struggle in traffic. I was catching up to the cars in front of me, I just couldn't overtake them. Today wasn't one of our better races, but more importantly, I hope Chris is okay. He's been my fueler at Marlboro Team Penske for three years and I look forward to him being back in the pits soon."
