Scott Sharp, No. 8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone--- Quote
"I'm pretty happy with our effort today because the Delphi team has been struggling a bit and we haven't had the speed we've wanted on a consistent basis. In past qualifying sessions we haven't equaled what we had been running in practice, let alone improved and today we jumped one mile per hour. That was a good hustle by the guys this morning with some of the changes we made between practice and qualifying the Delphi guys were really moving to get in the qualifying line on time. So I wanted to give them all an "atta boy" because it's been tough, but you have to just stay with it and hope that our speeds will improve and that things will come around for the Delphi team. You can't give up."
*The Argent Mortgage Kansas Indy 300 will be Sharp's 88th career start, his 80th consecutive IRL IndyCar start--an IndyCar record-- and his seventh season with Kelley Racing.
* Kansas Record--In 2003 he started 10th and finished 16th after a mechanical failure. In 2002, he started 13th and finished sixth, while in 2001 he started from the pole and finished 17th after an accident.
*Sharp is currently in 12th place in the IndyCar Series points standings with 112 points.
*Sharp's victory in April 2003 at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan was his eighth career victory.
