Dreyer & Reinbold Infiniti Is Set to Cheer on St. James at Indy
INDIANAPOLIS, May 11 - Even if they didn't know her, the staff and management of Dreyer & Reinbold Infiniti of Indianapolis would be cheering for Lyn St. James to make the field for the Indianapolis 500 later this month.
Now they're cheering especially hard for two reasons: St. James is one of only a handful of Indy Racing League drivers to announce that she'll use an Infiniti powerplant at Indy this year, and their company is the official car dealership of Lyn St. James Racing.
A family-owned business, Dreyer & Reinbold Infiniti was one of the initial Infiniti dealers when it was launched in 1989. Located at 9370 Whitley Drive in Indianapolis, it is one of only two Infiniti dealerships in the state and the only one in Indianapolis itself.
"The corporation actually was formed in the spring of 1968," explained Scott Kenney, general manager. "And this isn't our first association with racing, either. The late Pop Dreyer was a BMW motorcycle racer and an engineer on some Indy cars in the forties, fifties and sixties.
"His daughter married a Reinbold, and that's how the name was established," he added. "Dennis Reinbold is a third-generation owner of the dealership today."
In addition to the Infiniti dealership, a VW dealership in Greenwood, Ind., and a BMW franchise in Indianapolis are part of the Dreyer & Reinbold conglomerate.
The motor that St. James is using in her Lifetime Television G-Force Infiniti at Indianapolis is the racing version of the Infiniti Q45 luxury performance sedan.
"We have several Q45s in stock, ready to go," Kenney added. "They're Infiniti's flagship model, and we're very proud of them."
"As one of the only teams using the Infiniti engine at Indianapolis this year, we're delighted that Dreyer & Reinbold Infiniti is supporting our efforts," said Debra Turner, vice president, business development of Lyn St. James Racing. "This kind of promotion at the local as well as the national level brings the message home, and we're glad to have Dreyer & Reinbold Infiniti on board."
