Lap 108: The gamble is now whether to pit or not. Andretti, other pit, the Penske cars do not. de Ferran now leads

Lap 105: Rain is reported at the track, and the caution is out.

Jon Herb crashes in to the turn one wall. He tried to pass a slower car, just touches the right rear of Ray's car, this put him in the wall.

Lap 103: Ray white walls the tires on the turn four exit. Andretti takes the lead.

Lap 101: Andretti told by Barry Green that rain is less than a mile from the track.

Lap 99: Dismore returns to the race after a gear box change. He lost six laps.

Lap 97: Rain is very close to the track. Andretti and Ray are fighting for the lead in expectation of rain.

Lap 92: Dismore now has lost his gearbox and is now finished for the day

Lap 90: The yellow is out. Track inspection for oil.

Lap 86: All the leaders have pitted. Mark Dismore leads with de Ferran in second. Ward, Ray, Castroneves round out the top five. Michael Andretti is in sixth, followed by Buhl, Gordon, Vasser and Hamilton.

Dismore has lost fifth and sixth gears. Minassian has lost his gear box.

Lap 75 second round pit stops are underway.

Lap 53 Mark Dismore takes the lead from Andretti as he pits

AT 50 laps, Micheal Andretti is the leader, followed by Dismore, Ray and de Ferran

Robby Gordon has a 30 second pit stop, they had trouble with fueling the car.

Pit stops are beginning at lap 38, all the cars should be in soon. Cheever stop is long because of trouble getting one of the tires on.

At Lap 30 the top five are: Ray, Gordon, de Ferran, Dismore, Ward.

Al Unser, Jr. and Sarah Fisher both say that the white line is not the problem. The problem is the cars are not getting up to speed and getting the tires hot enough to grip the track.

Lap 23: The green flies again. Goodyear is complaining of back pain.

On lap 18, the green flag, flies and there is another crash. Al Unser, Jr. and Sam Hornish, Jr are involved. Hornish tries to run under the white line in turn four, spins the car, but does not hit any thing. Unser, Jr. tries to avoid Hornish, he hits the wall and is out of the race.

Lap 6 Sarah Fisher goes low in turn two, catches the white line at the apron, the cold tires get loose, she spins, collects Scott Goodyear and hits the wall. She is ok. Goodyear had no were to go.

Lap 5 the green flies.

Lap 1: Pole sitter Scott Sharp dives too low in to turn one, crosses the white live at the apron, looses control and crashes the car into the wall at the exit of the turn. Cold tires may have been a factor also. "I am sorry, I am so sorrry," Sharp told his crew on the radio. Sharp appears to be uninjuried. Robby Gordon barely misses Sharp.

The 33 cars are running and on their warm up and pace laps. Weather is overcast with tempin the low 60's F. Warming tires to race temp may be a problem.
