Red Bull Cheever Racing Drivers To Attend Sprint Car Race:

Red Bull Cheever Racing drivers Ed Carpenter and Alex Barron will attend a sprint car race at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway on April 23.

Carpenter, the 2001 USAC Sprint Car Rookie of the Year, will help announce from the PA box and give teammate Barron a behind-the-scenes look into the world of sprint car racing.

Carpenter will also serve as pace car driver for the "Little 500" bicycle race at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., on April 24. He will pace the field for the event driving a Chevrolet Corvette, similar to the one used at the Indianapolis 500.

Sneva to continue as Taylor's spotter: Tom Sneva will continue to serve as spotter for IndyCar Series rookie Mark Taylor.

Sneva, who won the 1983 Indianapolis 500, worked with Taylor for the first time at the Indy Japan 300 on April 17 at Twin Ring Motegi, and Panther Racing plans to have him help Taylor at the April 26 Rookie Orientation Program at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

"He did a great job," Taylor said. "I was surprised how well he was able to fit in up there. It's a very tough job to do. I'm glad to say he's going to continue on for the rest of the year. Hopefully he'll be able to continue helping me through the whole year."
