VISION RACING OVERCOMES WET AND WINDY CONDITIONS FOR ANOTHER DAY OF PRACTICE

SPEEDWAY, Indiana -- Vision Racing battled wind and rain for track time today in preparation for the 90th running of the Indianapolis 500 and managed to secure all three drivers in the top 12 on the speed chart. For the third day in a row, the weather played a factor in the day's events which resulted in yet another shortened practice schedule. A total of 19 cars turned laps during today's practice and Vision Racing drivers Tomas Scheckter, Ed Carpenter and Townsend Bell secured spots 10-12, respectively.

Scheckter again led the way for his teammates in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone by rounding out the top 10 at 222.241 mph. Carpenter secured the 11th position in the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone at 221.848 mph while Bell in the #90 Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone ended up 12th quick on the day at 221.695 mph.

The Vision Racing trio completed 43 laps all together with the focus again being placed on experimentation with race setups rather than getting the most speed out of the cars. However, tomorrow is "Fast Friday" at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the team's final preparation for the World Points VISA Card Pole Day on Saturday.

Tomorrow's track activity includes practice starting at noon and lasting until 6:00 p.m. (EDT).

90th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Practice Results (May 11, 2006) and Quotes:

Tomas Scheckter -- #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On practice for the day:
"We tried a couple of different things on the car today and we were still pretty quick so I'm pleased with how things are progressing. Even with the difficult conditions, we still performed well and learned a lot. This weekend will be fun and we have our work cutout for us, but we are up to the challenge and are really looking forward to it. It will be fun to really turn it loose and see what we can do."

Ed Carpenter -- #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On practice for the day:
"The wind was inconsistent today which made it somewhat difficult, but we learned a lot yesterday so we were able to apply that to today's practice. We are looking forward to Fast Friday and the weekend qualifying and the team is confident heading into the weekend."

Townsend Bell-- #90Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On practice for the day:
"It somewhat difficult to get comfortable with the car given the wind and conditions today and since it was only my third day ever on this track; we decided to take a conservative approach. We are a half-step behind the top times, but I am confident that I will be given the car to get me there and I'm looking forward to qualifying this weekend."
