INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, March 5, 2002 - Racing Professionals and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing each filed single entries for the 86th Indianapolis 500 this week.

Team owner-driver Jon Herb was listed as the driver on the Racing Professionals entry, filed March 5. Dreyer & Reinbold Racing filed its second entry March 4 for the Indianapolis 500, with no driver listed. The team entered cars for its full-time Indy Racing League driver and team co-owner Robbie Buhl on Feb. 26.

The 86th Indianapolis 500 is May 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Entry invitations were mailed Feb. 22, and entries must be postmarked by April 3. All drivers will compete for one of the 33 starting spots in the world's most prestigious auto race.

Herb, a Chicago native who lives in Indianapolis, will drive the No. 16 G Force/Chevrolet/Firestone. The official car name will be announced later. No backup car was entered.

Ron Heck is the chief mechanic of Herb's entry.

Herb made his Indianapolis 500 debut last year, starting 25th and finishing 16th in a Tri Star Motorsports entry.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing entered the No. 23 G Force/Infiniti/Firestone, with an identical backup also entered. The driver, official car name, chief mechanic and team manager will be announced later.
