The Panther Pack wrapped up a very consistent week of practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a final day top speed of 223.314 mph, 40.302 seconds. Goodyear and the pack have been mainly focused on having the right set-up for the 83rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 30, 1999. "Our main focus has been on getting a car that can be there in qualifying but also be good for the race" said Goodyear at the end of today's practice. "We need a set-up that can go the distance, and I think we've got it very close." Gary Pedigo, Pennzoil Panther Co-Owner, drew qualifying spots #48 for the #4 car and #75 for the #4t car.

The Pack has some very familiar faces in the pit this weekend. Olympic gymnast, Bart Conner, is here to assist the crew during qualifying and again Carb Day and Race Day. Also, Co-owner and San Diego Chargers Quarterback, Jim Harbaugh, will be in tomorrow preparing for race day.

Pennzoil Panther Rookie Driver Dave Steele has not yet been cleared to drive. He was checked out again at the Clarian Health Infield Medical Center and is still suffering from pulled and strained muscles in his chest and back.
