"It was a productive day. We worked on the things we needed to in preparation for raceday. There was plenty of traffic out there today to work with, and the Chevy felt good. It's a long month, but the Pennzoil Panther guys are right on schedule in preparation for raceday."
SCHECKTER NOTES: Tomas qualified for his third Indianapolis 500 on Saturday, landing a spot on the inside of Row Four, with a four-lap average of 220.417 mph .... "We were working today on race setup and wanted to run with some cars ahead of us. Once I got in the tow I got a little too much push and lifted in the corner, then over-corrected too much. I almost saved it from going into the wall, but the contact was pretty light. The Panther guys are working on it right now and they'll make the repairs and get it back out there tomorrow."
TAYLOR NOTES: Mark spun on the exit of Turn One, went low down into the short chute and spun around as he came back across the track and made light contact with the outside retaining wall in the short chute of Turns One and Two. Taylor was uninjured in the incident and damage to the Menards/Johns Manville Chevrolet was minimal .... He was driving the 2T at the time .... Saturday he qualified for his first Indianapolis 500, with a four-lap average of 219.282 mph ... He will start from the middle of Row Five.
