Cahill Racing is enjoying its Best Buy RV.

RICHMOND, Ind., May 16 - When Robby McGehee and other members of the Cahill Racing team aren't in Garage B-29-30 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway or at the Downtown Indianapolis Marriott, they can take a break and relax in a 39-foot-long National RV diesel motor home parked in space 59 of the east motor coach lot behind the garage area.

The motor coach was supplied for their use by one of their sponsors, Best Buy RVs, located at 3250 Chester Blvd. in Richmond, Ind., off Exit 151 of Interstate 70 West.

"We're not the biggest; we're the friendliest!" is that company's slogan, and its president, Dennis Runzer, is using the motor coach as a way to do business-to-business sales promotions at the track during the month of May.

"This motor coach is on a Freightliner chassis and it's powered by a 350-horsepower Cummins engine," Runzer pointed out during a tour of the motor coach on Saturday. "It features a living area with a solid walnut interior, a slide-out kitchen with Corian countertops and a side-by-side refrigerator; a bathroom with a shower and a slide-out bedroom. It can sleep four."

The Cahill Racing crew can watch televised coverage from the track via satellite on two different televisions, including a 25-inch one above the area where the driver sits. The coach is also equipped with a surround-sound stereo system and a washer and dryer. Runzer says the coach is for sale at a price of $202,000.

"We're working with Cahill Racing and Robby McGehee here at Indy for the exposure and just to showcase our company, which is the diesel pusher headquarters in this area," Runzer said. "We have $10 million worth of inventory on display at our location in Richmond. We carry both National and Allegro brands. This coach is a Tradewinds LTC from National RV, which is headquartered in Perris, Calif.

"National RV is the fourth-largest manufacturer of motor homes in the nation," Runzer continued. "Our company, Best Buy RVs, is the sixth-largest National RV dealer in the country. We have over 200 units in our inventory. We have lower overhead than our competitors and competitive prices, and we'll deliver a coach anywhere in the United States.

"I've been in the motor home business since 1978 and my wife Carolyn and I started Best Buy RVs four years ago," he added. "In those four years we've grown from five employees to over 50."

Runzer said he's only been to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway one other time, "about four or five years ago," but he's impressed with what he has been seeing while working with the Cahill Racing team.

"I can see it's a great sport and a great industry," he said. "We know that a lot of people who patronize the races are our customers, and it's a growing segment," he added. "Racing and RV enthusiasts seem to go together, so it makes it worthwhile."
