INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway continued on Wednesday, as Panther's trio of drivers continued to improve their speeds. The team will continue to work towards Pole Day on Saturday, where the Speedway's new qualification format will make its debut. Today's practice session was cut short within the last hour by rain, and all three Panther Chevrolets had to cut their last runs short.

"Well, I'm both happy and sad. We didn't get as much running in as I would have liked, but the Pennzoil Platinum Chevy was very good whenever we were able to run. We're just continuing to gather data for the race and for Saturday. We'll work hard tonight to find some things, and hopefully we'll be a little quicker tomorrow."

"We wanted to do another run today, because we did a last minute change but we got cut off by the rain. It was a good day for us, same as yesterday. My ribs today are much better. It's every day now they get better and better and each day I'm getting used to the pain. We are still being very safe in terms of downforce and the speed will be there when we need it. We will continue to trim down the car the next two days and get faster in our RockStar Chevy.
Buddy Lazier 95 Byrd Brothers/Panther Racing
"We're just working through things and working our program. I've got a great engineer in Andy Brown and a great group of guys around me. Things seem to be going very well right now, but Indy is a tricky place. It can make you happy and it can make you sad. At this point, I'll just say that we are pleased but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves."
