"Well, Indy is definitely full of its ups and downs, and we're all understanding of that. We started the day off by breaking the oil cooler. My Pennzoil Platinum guys did a great job of getting that fixed and getting me back out on the track, and I have to thank them for that. After a few runs in that car, we pulled out the car we're planning to qualify with to shake it down. We were on a great lap there at the end, but the yellow came out and we couldn't finish it. Still, we're really looking forward to tomorrow and Saturday. For sure, things are looking good for us and the Pennzoil Platinum Chevy."

"It was another very good day today. So far, I like the progress that we have made. But we still have a little way to go. Every lap I get more comfortable with the track and we have started to trim out the car. I would prefer it doesn't rain tomorrow because I'd like to get some more laps and we are still working on some changes for Saturday qualifying."

"We were hoping to get a lot of running in during the last hour today, but the yellows really slowed us down and threw a wrench into our plans. Even so, we still learned a lot that we can apply to the car when we go at it again tomorrow. I'm still as pleased as I can be with the team and especially with the engineering. I've worked with a lot of good people over the years, and honestly, these guys here are some of the best in the business. We're still focused on Saturday and I think we're going to surprise people in our Chevrolet."
