Matsuura Concludes Indy 500 Preparations

Weather: At 10:00 am CT, 78F with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the southwest at 18 mph.

Practice Summary: Matsuura completed nine laps in the #55 T-car, posting a best lap of 218.692 mph; Matsuura returned to the track at 10:30 am for a shakedown of his primary car; Matsuura completed a total of 10 laps in the #55 car, posting a best lap of 218.034 mph to place both cars at the top of the speed charts at the conclusion of the morning practice session.

Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Panoz G Force/Honda/Firestone:

"Today I drove the primary car. We had a couple of problems but we solved the problems and the car is ready for the race. My back-up car also is very quick. We have two cars very quick so I am very happy."

"Today was our final preparation for the #55 Panasonic car. Kosuke was very consistent in both the primary and back-up cars, and I'm very pleased with the results. We had a practice engine in the primary car to shake the chassis down and all systems before Carburetion Day when we will have the race engine in which we get early next week. All is well and we are very pleased with our preparation for the upcoming 500."
