Matsuura Hampered in Opening Practice at Indy

Practice Summary: Matsuura took to the track at the opening of practice, 12:00 pm. The team returned to the garage at 1:00 pm for changes, and Matsuura was shown in 10 th with a best lap of 221.074 mph at the time. At 2:20 pm, Matsuura went out for his second practice run but was back in the garage 25 minutes later for additional changes. He was shown in 12 th position (221.435 mph) at the time. Matsuura returned to the track at 4:00 pm. With Matsuura battling an unstable race car, the team returned to the garage 20 minutes. Weather conditions prevented a final practice run.

Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "This was our first practice day. The past two years, we had a very, very good start on the first day but the end result wasn't as good. This year, the feeling today wasn't good so, hopefully, this means we will have a good result in the race. Right now, the car doesn't feel connected but we have enough time to work on the setup. Scott [Sharp] is finding some things by going a different way, so we are going to put everything together. I want to have a car that I feel confident to drive. Right now, the car feels very unstable -- sometimes neutral, sometimes a lot of push with everything happening in one lap. If we can fix this, I know we will be very strong. I am confident."
