Matsuura Makes First Run with T-Car in Practice at Indy
Weather: At the start of practice, 12:15 pm, mostly sunny skies with temperatures at 64º F and winds out of the west at 10 mph. Temperatures reaching the 70º mark by 3:00 pm under sunny skies with variable winds at six mph. Radar showing rain moving into the area. Moisture reported at 4:30 pm, followed by brief heavy rain.
Practice Summary: Following two days of no track activity, practice resumed this afternoon with Matsuura taking to the track at 12:15 pm for his first run of the day, and his first outing aboard the #55 T-Car (back up car). Matsuura completed 19 laps by 1:00 pm, and was shown ninth quickest with a lap of 221.226 mph. [The fastest at that point was Helio Castroneves with a lap of 222.976 mph.] The team returned to the garage for changes at 1:40 pm with Matsuura shown P10 after 32 laps, and his earlier lap holding as his quickest. Matsuura went out for his final run of the day at 3:35 pm. He completed an additional nine laps but was unable to better his earlier time. The team returned to the garage at 4:15 pm, just prior to the rain.
Qualifying for positions 1-33 will take place next Saturday, May 20 th . Sunday, May 21st will be reserved for Bump Day.

"Today was the first time we ran the back-up car. It didn't feel as good as my primary car. The rear felt unstable. We made a few changes, but it didn't feel any better. Then the rains came. We will go back to the primary car tomorrow."
