Matsuura Claims Third Spot on the Speed Charts

Weather: Brief shower in the morning. At the start of practice, 62 F with winds out of the east at 13 mph. At 4:00 pm, 66 F with winds out of the east at 13 mph.

Practice Summary: Matsuura started his first practice run at 1:30 pm, completing 18 laps and posting a speed good enough for fourth place at the time with a lap of 226.859 mph. Matsuura returned to the track at 3:50 pm for his second run of the day, claiming the third spot on the speed charts with a 227.375 (mph) and completing 18 laps. Matsuura returned to the track for "Happy Hour" but was unable to improve on his earlier speed.

"The time was good today, but I had quite a good tow. The car feels good, but on my own the car was a little bit edgy. The wind direction was different today, and the wind was really strong and the car was shaking quite a lot. When I drove alone, it was a little bit difficult to drive but our times were good. We have a lot of motivation right now."
