Matsuura Third Quickest on Second Practice Day

Practice Summary: Matsuura began his first run of the day at the start of practice. He became the second driver to hit the 225 mph at 12:35 pm, with a lap of 225.140 mph. (Dan Wheldon was the first.) The track went yellow for moisture at 1:15 pm, with Matsuura shown as second quick. Matsuura returned to the track at 1:55 pm still holding second spot on the speed charts. A problem with third gear sent the team back to the garage at 2:15 pm. The team repaired the gear problem, and Matsuura went out at 3:00 pm for what would be his final run of the day due to rain at 3:30 pm.

Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "We struggled a little bit yesterday, but found the right direction today. Yesterday, the car was inconsistent but I am very confident to drive the car now. The last outing was really good. I was able to go flat out for 25 laps on very old tires. We found the right direction and we will keep building from here and start working on our qualifying simulations."
