INDIANAPOLIS -- Robby Gordon began working on Indy 500 race setups on his Meijer/Coca-Cola Dallara-Chevrolet Wednesday, with a best lap of 215.519 mph in 47 laps of the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Gordon did all his work in his non-qualified No. 70 Meijer car.

"By the end of the day, Robby was happy with the progress we were making on a race setup," said team manager/engineer Thomas Knapp. "Everything we did today was designed to give Robby a well-balanced and good handling car for the race. We'll continue that work tomorrow."

Gordon is scheduled to continue Indy 500 race practice Thursday. He then goes to Charlotte for Saturday night's NASCAR All-Star Challenge, driving the Cingular Wireless Chevy for Richard Childress Racing.
