INDIANAPOLIS, Thursday, March 6, 2003 -- Indy Racing League IndyCar Series team Dreyer & Reinbold Racing filed an Indianapolis 500 today entry for full-time series driver Robbie Buhl. Buhl will attempt to qualify the No. 24 Team Purex Dreyer & Reinbold Racing entry and compete for the eighth time in the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing."

Buhl, of Lakewood, Ohio, qualified on the front row for the Indianapolis 500 in 2002 with a four-lap average of 231.033 mph, good for a career-best second-place starting spot. His career-best finish in the world's most prestigious auto race is sixth in 1999.

The Team Purex entry includes a Dallara chassis, Chevrolet power and Firestone tires. The team entered an identical backup car as well.

Buhl and Indianapolis businessman Dennis Reinbold are owners of the team. John O'Gara is the team manager and Brian Franzosi is the chief mechanic.

Entry invitations for the 2003 Indianapolis 500 were mailed on March 5 and must be postmarked by midnight April 2.

Opening Day for Indianapolis 500 practice is Sunday, May 4. Pole Day qualifying is May 10 and the 87th running of the "500" is scheduled for 11 a.m. (EST) on Sunday, May 25.
