DREYER & REINBOLD FILES ENTRIES FOR INDY 500 WINNERS LAZIER, UNSER

INDIANAPOLIS, Thursday, March 30, 2006 -- Dreyer & Reinbold Racing filed two entries March 30 for the 90th Indianapolis 500, with past winners Buddy Lazier and Al Unser Jr. named as drivers.

The 90th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 28 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Entries must be postmarked by midnight Wednesday, April 5.

1996 Indianapolis 500 winner Lazier, from Vail, Colo., will drive the No. 5 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone, with an identical backup entered. Gary Neal is the chief mechanic.

2000 IndyCar Series champion Lazier will attempt to make his 14th career Indianapolis 500 start. He has six top-10 finishes at Indianapolis during his career and recorded five consecutive finishes in the top seven from 1996-2000. He finished fifth last year at Indy in a Panther Racing entry.

Unser, from Henderson, Nev., will drive the No. 31 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone, with an identical backup entered. Pat Jordan is the chief mechanic.

Unser will attempt to make his 18th Indianapolis 500 start and first since 2004. He won "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" in 1992 and 1994, with his margin of victory of .043 of a second over Scott Goodyear in 1992 the closest in the race's history. Unser won his only Indianapolis 500 pole in 1994.

One of only 16 drivers with at least two "500" wins, Unser ranks in the top 10 all-time in numerous Indianapolis 500 statistical categories.

He is second in career earnings ($5,582,612), sixth in miles completed (7,167.5) and tied for seventh in races led (eight).

Indianapolis-based Dreyer & Reinbold is the first team to file entries for two Indy 500 winners this year. Longtime IndyCar Series team chief mechanic and manager John O'Gara is the general manager.
