INDIANAPOLIS (May 13, 2005) -- When the Red Bull Cheever Racing team took the track on "Fast Friday," they knew that heavy rain was in the forecast. As predicted, a downpour came in the early afternoon, canceling the final practice session before qualifications at 2:13 p.m. At that point, only 24 cars completed 462 laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Barron completed 35 laps with a top speed of 219.224 mph. The team had made some changes to the #51 car overnight, but the results couldn't be realized.

"We got out there early and got some quality laps in. I felt like we were heading in the right direction, but we weren't able to really tell because of the rain. We're going to make some additional adjustments to the car tonight so we're ready for qualifying tomorrow," Barron said.

Carpentier ran 24 laps with a top speed of 218.884 mph.

"It was a difficult day because we weren't able to determine whether the adjustments we made have us going in the right direction. We're just going to have to get the cars ready for qualifications, and hope the work we've been doing pays off," Carpentier said.

Both drivers will hit the track on Saturday for the first day of qualifications. Practice is from 9 to 11 a.m., with qualifications from noon to 6 p.m. The qualifying order was determined this afternoon in a random drawing. The team selected the following numbers in the qualification drawing:
