HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Vision Racing made their 2006 Indy Racing League IndyCar Series qualifying debut on the sun-soaked Homestead-Miami Speedway this afternoon for the season-opening Toyota Indy 300. Vision Racing drivers Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter will start the 2006 season from positions 12th and 13th , respectively. Scheckter in the #2 Dallara/Honda/Firestone qualified with a speed of 215.272 mph while his teammate, Carpenter, in the #20 Dallara/Honda/Firestone recorded a speed of 215.218 mph.

Vision Racing looks to move up the field quickly when the green flag drops on the Toyota Indy 300, a 200-lap, 300-mile race, at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, March 26. The race will be broadcast live on ABC, IMS Radio Network, XM Satellite Radio channel 145, and on the web at www.IndyCar.com.

Tomas Scheckter -- #2 Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On qualifying run: "While I'd like to have had a better starting position for the race, I'm very happy with where we are. The team has done a great job this weekend and with where we ran in the practice session this morning, I'm confident we'll move to the front quickly tomorrow."

Ed Carpenter -- #20 Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On qualifying run: "We would have liked to be a little quicker than where we ended up but we'll have a good race car for tomorrow. With everyone running Honda engines this year, having a good race car is going to be the most important thing to help us move to the front tomorrow."
