Top-Ten for Lazzaro

Homestead, FL: Anthony Lazzaro finished 9th in the season opening Indy Racing League event, The 20th Anniversary Grand Prix of Miami, in his #99 Norwalk Furniture/Sam Schmidt Motorsports/ BG Products entry. Lazzaro started 20th.

"We lucked into a top-ten today," said Lazzaro. "We got a few mistakes out of our system today. Our goal was to be running at the end and we accomplished that at least. Our other goal was a top ten finish and we got a few gifts at the end to help our cause. The car just was inconsistent in turn four and the wind was really bad. We'll put this weekend behind us and move on to Phoenix and be ready to run up front."

This was the first weekend for Treadway-Hubbard racing to handle the on-track operations for the Sam Schmidt Motorsports team.

"We'll take it," said Schmidt. "We wanted to be running at the end and we were. We also wanted to build the chemistry between Anthony and the new crew since we only had a few test days. I'm proud of Anthony and the team. I'm confident we can run up front and will with Anthony and this team. There are a lot of other teams that had worse days than us. We'll build on this top-ten."

The next event is the Copper World Indy 200 from the Phoenix International Raceway on March 17th.
