Ontario, CA. (September 20, 2003) --Qualifying is complete for tomorrow's Toyota Indy 400 and Helio Castroneves will pace the field after his quick speed of 226.757 mph. Kelley Racing drivers Al Unser Jr. and Scott Sharp were each able to find more speed during qualifying. Al Unser Jr., driver of the No. 31 Corteco entry, will start 15th for tomorrow's 200 lap event after posting a speed of 223.198 mph while his teammate Scott Sharp, driver of the No. 8 Delphi entry, will start 19th after posting a speed of 222.584 mph. Al Unser Jr. -- #31 Corteco/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone

"We've been working on the Corteco car and it's been running good. Qualifying is the quickest we've been all weekend. I'm really proud of the Corteco crew; they've really worked hard. Mike Colliver, my engineer, is doing a great job. I think we're quick enough to at least stay with draft tomorrow and that is what it's all about in this race."

California Record--In 2002, the inaugural year for the IRL at Fontana, Unser Jr. started 7th and finished 11th. As a Champ Car driver Unser Jr. raced in Fontana in 1997 and 1998. In 1997, he started 20th and finished 22nd, while in 1998 he started 13th and finished 27th.

Scott Sharp -- #8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone

"Today was the best we've done on our own all weekend by at least one mile an hour so that's good. It's been a struggle, no doubt and we certainly didn't finish the last practice where we wanted to be so we're on the wrong end of the grid from where we want to be. At this stage we're hoping tomorrow's race is like Michigan for us where we had a good race car and ended up finishing fourth. Hopefully we'll run well in the draft and give it the best shot we can for the Delphi Futaba team."
