Fontana, CA (October 3, 2004)--- Round 15 of 16 events is now in the record book for the 2004 IndyCar Series season and Tony Kanaan clinched the championship with his second place finish today. Adrian Fernandez won today's race after a late caution set up a one-lap shootout between he and Tony Kanaan. Scott Sharp, driver of the No. 8 Delphi entry, started the 200-lap event in 15th position and finished in 11th, one lap down. The Kelley Racing team will now return to their Indianapolis shop and prepare for the season's final event to be held on October 17 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Scott Sharp, No. 8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone--- Quote

"We just didn't have the race car we needed today. We couldn't take the Delphi car and hang in there with the other guys. What a shame. We had been hoping for strong finishes in these final two races and today it just didn't pan out. We still have a shot at Texas so we'll load up and roll it on the truck and hope for a better day at Texas."
