A Whirlwind of Activities
Barron and Carpenter enjoyed a week of CA fun before the Toyota Indy 400. First stop, Dodgers practice and the Dodgers vs. Rockies game, followed by a "Wind Tunnel" activity at Perris Valley Skydive with the Red Bull Air Force Team, a Red Bull Cheever Racing team party with go-karting, hot rod shows, a DJ and BBQ, visiting patients at the Loma Linda Children's Hospital, and finally the CARA Charities Beach Blanket Bash with Barron in the volleyball game and Carpenter posing for photos with fans.
Red Bull's Hometown Track
What better track for RBCR to show their high-speed skills at than California Speedway? Not only is it Barron's hometown track, but Red Bull's headquarters are right around the corner in Santa Monica, CA! You can guarantee that RBCR will have a big crowd of fans cheering on their favorite team.
Alex Barron: "The race at California Speedway has always been one of my favorite events. Next year they added another California race with the road course at Infineon Raceway, so I'm sure that will be a good event too. All of my family and friends live close enough to the track that they can come out all weekend to watch. The track itself is great too because it's one of the only 2-mile ovals we run on. The crowd is always good, and the weather in California is beautiful. All we need to do is win the race.
Ed Carpenter: "I raced at California Speedway last year in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series and finished in second, so I'd love to be able to do that this year in IndyCars. We're almost at the end of the season, so I want to put in two good finishes and with some extra luck hopefully catch Kosuke (Matsuura) in the chase for the Rookie of the Year title."
Carpenter Shines with Indianapolis Charities RBCR's rookie doesn't hesitate to put in a helping hand on his weekend off. On Friday, October 8th Carpenter will make his regular visit to Riley Hospital to celebrate the October birthdays with the children and their families. On Saturday, October 9th he heads down to the campus of IUPUI for the annual Diabetes walk.
