SCHECKTER RECORDS TOP-10 PRACTICE RUN FOR VISION RACING IN TEAM’S DEBUT AT BELLE ISLE
DETROIT, Mich. -- Vision Racing drivers Tomas Scheckter, Ed Carpenter and A.J. Foyt IV took to the 14-turn, 2.125-mile temporary street course for their debut on The Raceway at Belle Isle today in preparation for Sunday's Detroit Indy Grand Prix presented by Firestone.

Tomas Scheckter -- No. 2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"Practice went well. We weren't sure what the car would be like here when we unloaded, but we got off on the right foot and things went well in the morning. This afternoon, we were just feeling things out and getting a good car together for the end. I was putting in my best lap of the day at the end of the afternoon session when Sam (Hornish) hit the wall and brought out the yellow to close the practice. That was unfortunate, but I'm confident in what we have and looking forward to the rest of the weekend."
Ed Carpenter -- No. 20 Hitachi Power Tools/Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"Practice was fun and this is definitely a fun course to drive. A two hour practice session at most places is a long session, but here it's not long enough. It's fun to get around here. The morning practice went okay, but the afternoon went a lot better. We just spent time getting in as many laps as we could so I could figure out what I wanted on the car. It's a good new track for the Series and its fun to drive."
A.J. Foyt IV -- No. 22 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"Practice went okay this morning. It wasn't bad, but the motor was losing some water so unfortunately we had to change the engine and miss the afternoon practice session. The guys are just working hard on the car to get it put back together for tomorrow. I like the course, but it's tough and rough. I would say there are more bumps than St. Petersburg so that makes it difficult, but its fun to drive and should make for a good race."
