ETHANOL HEMELGARN RACING CAPITALIZES ON TIME OFF; WILL ARRIVE AT CHICAGO STRONGER THAN EVER
Indianapolis, IN, September 7, 2005 - Jimmy Kite and the Ethanol Hemelgarn Racing team are expecting a great result at this weekend's Peak Antifreeze Indy 300 presented by Mr. Clean at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL, round 15 of the 17-race Indy Racing League IndyCar Series.
The #91 Ethanol-sponsored Dallara/Toyota/Firestone entry skipped the road- course race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, two weeks ago, in order to focus on the setup for this weekend's event on the 1.5-mile oval.
Team Manager Lee Kunzman is extremely optimistic about the team's chances after having a good test at Chicagoland Speedway last week. "We've made gains all season, and our top-10 finish at Kentucky shows that we're on the right track. We had a fantastic test at Chicago and we have really used the last several weeks to focus on some areas where we know there are gains to be had. The car has never been stronger and we are looking forward to bringing home another good finish."
Driver of the #91 entry, Jimmy Kite, is also upbeat and positive about the team's chances for this weekend. "With the way that our performance has been getting better and with the way that we ran on the last mile and a half oval at Kentucky, I'm really looking forward to this weekend," Kite said. "Now, we just need to improve on our finish at Kentucky."
Kite will be making his tenth IndyCar start of the year since replacing the rookie Paul Dana, who was injured practicing for the Indianapolis 500. You can catch the Ethanol Hemelgarn Racing team in action at Chicagoland Speedway in Joilet, IL on September 11th. The race will be broadcast live on ABC at 1:30 Eastern Time.
Ethanol Hemelgarn Racing is backed by a group of companies within the fast- growing ethanol industry, led by the major ethanol design-build firms Fagen Inc., ICM Inc., and Broin Companies. Ethanol is a high octane, high performance fuel that is clean burning, renewable and made in America. As a growing component of the United States' gasoline supply, ethanol delivers improved vehicle performance while reducing emissions and improving air quality. The IndyCar Series has announced that it will switch to ethanol as its fuel source beginning with a 10% blend in 2006 and moving to 100% fuel-grade ethanol in 2007.
