Matsuura Pleased with Opening Practice
Kosuke Matsuura [Kohs-kay Mat-sur-ah] turned his first laps at Chicagoland Speedway this afternoon as IRL IndyCar® Series practice activities began in preparation for Sunday's Delphi Indy 300. Matsuura, who was in the first practice group in each of two sessions held today on the 1.5-mile oval, ended the day with the 16th-fastest time overall -- 0.3525 seconds off of the quickest time of the day.
Weather: At the start of the first 30-minute practice session, temperatures at 68 F under sunny skies with winds out of the south at five mph; for the afternoon practice session, temperatures at 81 F under sunny skies and little wind.
Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Panoz G Force/Honda/Firestone: "The car so far is quite good and quite stable. In the turbulence, it is quite fast as well. I think we can have a very good result this weekend. I enjoy this track because you can be two and three wide."
