Brack qualifies fourth at Chicagoland

Kenny Brack led the Honda effort in qualifying Saturday for the Delphi Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway, posting the fourth-fastest speed for Team Rahal in single-car qualfying, less than one mile per hour slower than 2003 first-time pole qualifier Richie Hearn.

Kansas Speedway race winner Bryan Herta ran seventh fastest today, his sixth top-10 qualifying run in nine starts this season. Herta's Andretti Green Racing teammate, rookie Dan Wheldon, rounded out the top ten with a speed of 221.053 mph.

Tony Kanaan, currently third in the IndyCar Series points standings, will start 14th on Sunday, while rookie points leader Roger Yasukawa improved two positions from Friday's practice sessions to qualify 18th.

Greg Ray was forced to withdraw from this weekend's race following a crash that caused major damage to his Access Motorsports Honda. He was not injured. Sunday's 200-lap race starts at 2 p.m. EDT with live television coverage on ABC.

Kenny Brack (#15 Pioneer/Miller Lite Team Rahal Honda) qualified fourth:

"The qualifying run felt good. That was the fastest we have run by ourselves all weekend. I'm pretty encouraged for Sunday's race, because we have been working on our race setup most of the time. It's nice to start up front, but I think you can come from almost anywhere on this track and be in a position to win the race. Now we just have to go out and run hard at the front. It will be a battle for all 200 laps, and you want to be at the front after that last pit stop. But it won't be easy. I think it will be a real shootout on Sunday."
