Delphi Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway, Joliet, Ill.

Race Distance: 300 miles (200 laps on the 1.5-mile tri-oval).

Firehawks Supplied: The Firestone Racing program brought 1,348 Firehawk racing tires to Chicagoland Speedway for this weekend's Indy Racing League competition, enough to provide eight sets per car as set by IRL officials.

The Firehawks were produced at the Bridgestone/Firestone Technical Center in Akron, Ohio.

Firestone Motorsports Executive Director Al Speyer: "The Chicagoland tri-oval is a challenging place for race teams and drivers. This weekend, as the Indy Racing League conducts its next-to-last event of the season, the challenge intensifies as drivers are also engaged in a close points battle. As each looks to improve his or her standing, there will be many strategies for racing on this track, with one common denominator: the performance offered by the Firestone Firehawks. We're proud to be on every car, and proud to contribute to what we know will be a very exciting race. With so many connections to the automotive industries, Chicago is a great place to showcase our performance. Our Firestone retail store division is headquartered in nearby Bloomingdale, and we know many of those associates will be in the stands, cheering on their favorite drivers. We're looking forward to a great race."

This Weekend's Event is the 70th race for the IRL since the series began competition in 1996, and the second IRL race at Chicagoland. The driver leading at lap 70 in Sunday's race will receive a $10,000 Firestone Performance Award bonus, celebrating Firestone being the only tire brand to appear in every IRL race.
