Tony Kanaan Facts
Chicagoland marks Kanaan's 31st IndyCar Series start.
Kanaan enters the Chicagoland event atop the IndyCar® Series point standings with 503 points; he leads Klein Tools/Jim Beam driver Dan Wheldon by 72 points and Buddy Rice by 76 points.
Kanaan has completed all 2,705 race laps run this season, making him the only IRL IndyCar® Series driver to have completed every lap.

Kanaan's 815 laps led this season are the most of any IndyCar® Series driver and more than twice that of the next-highest lap leader. Teammates Dan Wheldon (397) and Dario Franchitti (347) rank second and third, respectively. With 12 top-five finishes this season, Kanaan has tied Helio Castroneves (12, 2002) for the IndyCar® Series record for most top-five finishes in a season.
Kanaan ranks fourth among IndyCar Series career lap leaders, having led 1,156 laps.
Kanaan has four career IndyCar® Series wins (Phoenix 2003 and 2004, Texas 2004, Nashville 2004) and five IndyCar Series poles (Homestead 2003, Phoenix 2003, Pikes Peak 2003, Michigan 2004 and Pikes Peak 2004).
Eric Cowdin, Race Engineer, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone, on the Delphi Indy 300:
"We are approaching this race as we have every race. The goal is to start from the pole, lead the most laps and win the race. With three races left and up to 159 points available we can't start changing the things that got us to this point in the championship."
