IRL: Chicagoland: AGR, Herta Friday report

Bryan Herta, ...

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"So far, so good. We had some good running in the pack today. The XM Satellite Radio car was working pretty good, so I'm pretty pleased. It was good because we had some good cars in that pack that we practiced with. We had our four cars, Buddy Rice was in there, the Penskes were in there for a while and a couple of the Ganassi cars. It was a good pack to be in because I think it will be some of the same guys we'll see at the front on Sunday."

Bryan Herta Facts

Herta finished third in Chicagoland in 2003 in the closest 1-2-3 finish in IndyCar Series history. The margin between race winner Sam Hornish Jr. and Herta was .0100 of a second.

Herta travels to Chicagoland ranked 10th in the IndyCar Series point standings. He is only one point behind ninth-place driver, Darren Manning, and 19 points from the sixth-place driver, Sam Hornish Jr.

The driver of the XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone is coming off an eighth-place result in the Firestone Indy 225 - his seventh top-10 result in the past eight races.

The XM Satellite Radio crew has placed the race car in the top 10 on nine occasions in 2004. That total ties Herta for the fifth-most top-10 results in the IndyCar Series.

George Klotz, Team Manager, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"The XM Satellite Radio car is pretty good. We just want to be quicker. We've got a couple little things to work out that should help. We just need to find a little more speed and put ourselves in a good position for Sunday."
