Cheever Group names new director of partnership development
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 6, 2005) -- Kent Thomas has joined Cheever Group as its new director of partnership development.
In this role, Thomas will work with the organization's existing partners to help them maximize bottom-line returns on their sponsorship investment. In addition, searching for new partners with promotional aspirations in motorsports also will be a focal point of his efforts.
Thomas has been involved in the business of motorsports for the past 14 years, primarily from the corporate sponsorship development side. He has specialized in the packaging and activation of many successful corporate partnerships in various forms of professional motorsports, including the Indy Racing League, NASCAR and Grand Am. Successful consumer and business-to-business promotions are a hallmark of his motorsports strategies, built on behalf of many well-known, national brands. Thomas joins the company after most recently working as the chief marketing officer for Indianapolis-based motorsports agency, Just Marketing.
"It has long been my belief that in order to achieve the best possible result, one must employ the best talent available. This is true both on the racetrack and in the boardroom. Kent's experience and passion for the commercial aspects of racing will be a great asset to our organization," said Cheever Group president and CEO, Eddie Cheever Jr.
