(Columbus, OH) - Jim Immke, former co-owner of Hubbard/Immke Racing has decided to stay and compete in the Indy Racing Northern Light Series. "I could not believe the amount of phone calls from other owners, drivers and people within the series asking me what they could do to get me to stay. It has really been inspirational," Immke said. "Over the weekend I made the decision to stay in the series and rebuild Immke Racing".
When asked about why he sold his interest in Hubbard / Immke Racing, Immke replied. "I really needed to get back and run my car dealerships, then at the end of last week a couple things happened that I can not talk about at this time, yet it has freed me up to where I can devote my full energy to Immke Racing. Things happen for a reason and sometimes they happen just when you need them to. This is one of those times."
"I am now aggressively piecing this together. I have money down on the Ganassi G-Force that Jimmy Vasser drove to 7th place at this years Indy 500. I also in interviewing drivers and other personnel that are necessary to make this a team strong and competitive" Immke added.
Immke plans to announce his plans for the remainder of the 2000 season next weekend in Colorado Springs, CO
"While I can not run the Texas race this weekend, my heart will be riding with Tyce Carlson. We were together a long time and many of the guys on his team were with us from the beginning, back in 1997,and I wish them all nothing but the best," Immke said.
Jim Immke has 18 starts in the IRNLS since becoming a car owner.
