National Lampoons Van Wilder to ride with Treadway

Fontana, CA: National Lampoons new movie, "Van Wilder", will ride on the engine cover of the Rick Treadways' #55 Airlink Enterprises/Spade Motorsports entry for Treadway Racing in tomorrow's Yamaha Indy 400 from the California Speedway.

"This is the Lampoon movie for the new millennium," said Robert Levy one of the movie's producers. "The movie is built on the tradition of all the great Lampoon movies like Animal House and Vacation. We're looking forward to a re-birth of the Lampoon brand."

The movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid and will be released nationally on April 5, 2002.

"What a great partner to have here at the California Speedway just outside Hollywood," said Scott Cronk, Vice President of Treadway Racing. "I'm happy they chose us as a promotional vehicle for their movie release. Rick even got to meet some of the cast and really enjoyed his trip to Hollywood. I know we'll all be looking to forward to seeing this new Lampoon movie."

National Lampoon shareholder Christopher Williams was pleased to bring these two winning entities together.

"It's great to have the famous racing tradition of Indianapolis come to Hollywood and to have the comedic tradition of Lampoon be part of the event," said Williams. "The cars and stars of the Indianapolis 500 get to mingle with the stars of the silver screen. This is a great win-win situation and a great promotional avenue for the Lampoon movie release."

The Yamaha Indy 400 can be seen on Sunday March 24th on ESPN at 3:30 p.m. EST from the California Speedway.
