INDIANAPOLIS, Monday, March 6, 2000 - Buzz Calkins was entered March 6 into the 84th Indianapolis 500 by Bradley Motorsports. Calkins, from Denver, will drive the #12 Bradley Food Marts/Sav-O-Mat Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone. Practice starts May 13 for the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” with Pole Day May 20 and Race Day May 28. Bradley Motorsports also entered an identical backup machine for Calkins, winner of the inaugural Indy Racing event in January 1996 at Orlando, Fla. Todd Tapply is chief mechanic, and Mike Collier is team manager. Calkins is a full-time competitor in the Northern Light Indy Racing Series. Calkins, 28, will attempt to make his fifth consecutive start at Indianapolis. His best finish was 10th in 1998 in his family-owned Bradley Motorsports entry.
