Danica Patrick will help to promote "Herbie: Fully Loaded," a new movie from Walt Disney Pictures. The engine cover of Patrick's Honda-powered car will sport a Herbie decal during Saturday's race at Texas Motor Speedway. Patrick will attend the world premiere of "Herbie: Fully Loaded" at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on June 19.

The comedy team of Kanaan and Gossage are not quite ready for primetime but the duo were at their best while Tony Kanaan was inducted into the Texas Motor Speedway Hall of Fame. When Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage presented Kanaan with a commemorative belt buckle and hat, Kanaan replied, "I need boots." Kanaan, always the comedian, thanked those in attendance before reminding Gossage about a bet where Kanaan would win the chocolate fountain in the Speedway Club if he won Saturday night's race. Gossage replied that he could dip a strawberry in the fountain if he won, but he didn't remember any bet regarding Kanaan taking possession of the fountain fancied by his wife. Kanaan smile and said, "Okay, I'll steal it!"

Gene Simmons of KISS is expected to make a grand entrance at Texas Motor Speedway when he arrives to attend Saturday night's race. Photographers have been alerted to Simmons' arrival at 4:00 p.m. outside the Texas Motor Speedway media center.

Three drivers were sent to the back of the field for the start of Friday night's Craftsman Truck Series race. Johnny Sauter was sent to the rear for changing an engine while Bobby Hamilton will start at the back for missing the driver's meeting. Tracy Hines was sent to the rear of the field for making "unapproved adjustments during the impound period."

The Indy Racing League's official track distance used for calculating speed at the Texas Motor Speedway is 1.455-miles.
