Max Jones has left Red Bull Cheever Racing to rejoin Roush Racing. Jones was managing director at Red Bull Cheever Racing before rejoining his former employer Roush Racing where he will manage the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Busch Series teams. Jones, a former driver in the SCCA Trans AM Series, was instrumental in recruiting young drivers prior to his departure from Roush Racing.

Tomas Scheckter's Chevrolet-powered Dallara is sporting a new front wing at Richmond this weekend. A plate parallel to the wing endplate is situated between the nose and the endplate is attracting attention because of its size. The second plate is nearly the size of the endplate. Scheckter, who won the last race at Texas, qualified 19th out of 22 cars.

Stevie Reeves is back in the USAC Silver Crown Series. Reeves won two USAC Midgets championships in 1992 and '93 before moving on to the NASCAR Busch Series and a handful of appearances in the IndyCar Series. Reeves made his IndyCar Series debut with Pagan Racing in 1998.

This is the fifth IndyCar Series race at Richmond International Raceway. Official track distance used to calculate speeds is .750-miles.

Davey Hamilton, whose antics can be seen on "Inside Scoop with Davey Hamilton" at www.redbullcheeverracing.com, has been summoned from the spotter's stand to handle what the team is calling "driver communications." As a former IndyCar Series driver Hamilton will work with drivers Alex Barron and Patrick Carpentier and the team's engineers.
