Tom Carnegie, the voice of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway public address system, was admitted to Methodist Hospital on Wednesday. Carnegie, 85, was working at the Speedway Wednesday when he felt ill. Carnegie may be released later today but is not expected to back to work on Friday for Carb Day.

When the Indianapolis Motor Speedway issued a press release regarding a Target Ganassi car being suspended it wasn't long before rumors of an Indy 500 starter being disqualified made the rounds on the internet. To kick off Community Day on Wednesday, a Target Ganassi show car was suspended from the side of the Indiana Square Building in downtown Indianapolis. The car, which weighs 1000 pounds without an engine and gearbox, will remain attached to the building until after Sunday's 89th running of the Indianapolis 500.

Jiffy Lube will grace the sidepods of Buddy Lazier's Chevrolet-powered Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria/ESPN 950 Panther Racing No. 95. Jiffy Lube International is a wholly owned, indirect subsidiary of Shell Oil Company.

Panther Racing will host a party in the parking lot of the team's headquarters on Saturday night. Activities are scheduled from 5-6:30 p.m. include show cars and prizes. Panther Racing is located at 5101 Decatur Blvd. in Indianapolis.

Jimmy Kite will make man exhibition run on Carb Day driving an ethanol-powered IndyCar Series car. It is the first time an ethanol-powered car has made an exhibition run since the partnership between the IndyCar Series and the Ethanol Industry. The run is scheduled to take place at 10:40 a.m. on Carb Day.

MasterCraft will present a pair of boats to Tomas Scheckter and Scott Dixon on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. The presentation will take place near the infield lakes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. MasterCraft Boats sponsors the Panther Racing team.

In addition to his father Michael Andretti and grandfather Mario Andretti, Marco Andretti has enjoyed support from his Uncle Aldo Andretti during practice for Friday's Freedom 100 Menards Infiniti Pro Series race.
