Andy Houston returns to No. 2 ASE Carquest Dodge after a one-week hiatus. Jimmy Spencer drove the No. 2 truck at Milwaukee last weekend, while Houston moved to the No. 59 Harris Trucking Dodge. "I want to thank Jimmy Spencer for stepping in and helping the crew evaluate the program," said Houston. "I also want to thank Jim Harris for allowing me to drive the No. 59, that really helped us with the driver points scenario." Houston is making his second start at Kansas Speedway after a 2001 start with Cal Wells in Nextel Cup competition.

Since qualifying for the Menards Infiniti Pro Series was rained out, competitors will line up based on practice times. If teams had been unable to practice, drivers would have started based on a combination of driver and team owner points. Thiago Medeiros was fastest in practice.

Just after 4:00 p.m. local time, all track activities at Kansas Speedway were canceled. Despite the best effort of track crews, who dried the track twice before persistent showers spoiled their efforts, only the Menards Infiniti Pro Series drivers were able to practice in a brief 20 minute session.
